First movie - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This is the first movie i ever remember watching as a little kid. I grew up on this sh*t. After i watched it, and loved it my grampa went and bought me a little bow and arrow set. Anyway, after 15 years, my feelings on this movie haven't changed. I can still watch it anytime. And everytime, I feel like that little kid again. Its great. You aught to try it sometime. Kevin is great for this lead character.
How does he continue to get work? - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
A movie with so much potential completely destroyed by casting a no-talent as the hero. I'd like to shoot the person who told Kevin Costner that he could act. Couldn't they have gotten someone who would at least TRY an English accent? At least they got it right when they casted the Sheriff of Nottingham.
Poor robin - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
How to describe Robin Hood: Prince of Theives. This movie is enjoyable enough but not without major flaws. The camera angles, the cheesy lines and the weak props, that during the final fight scene fall over or are split in two as is they were glass. The acting .... oh my. The quality of scenes varies throughout. Kevin Costner who is usually wonderful either over acts, doesnt act enough or does alright. For instance the scene at his fathers grave swearing to avenge him is horrifically over done, as well as his speech to unite the outlaws in Sherwood. And these are only two examples. Mary Elizabeth Mastantonio, again a wonderful actress but is inconsistent as well. Alan Rickman slurs his speech as if he were drunk a few times and over does the evil tyrant routine. If you were to watch this movie let it be for Morgan Freeman, who is amazing in everything, and the woodsman who are the personality and humor in this movie. This is obvious premature directing work from Kevin Reynolds, who later created the astounding Count of Monte Cristo. Every director starts somewhere. This movie is good, sometimes, however they butchered the legendary stories that were Robin Hood: Prince of Theives.

One of costners last good films... - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
Next to "Dances With Wolves" and "Bull Durham," this is probably Kevin Costners best work. He did a kick ass job of keeping the Robin Hood story alive.
Characters all around - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman ought to thank someone for putting them in this movie, both got to present portrayals that are unique in film history.
Alan Rickman's "Do you mind?, I've just been married." is a classic line that carries the nature of the Sheriff of Nottingham to his trivial height.
Morgan Freeman gets to play a noble Moor, (pre 9/11 by 10 years), so it does not come off as patronizing.
Kevin, some say, seemed to phone it in, but he just let the other characters come to the fore.
The music which is a pop ballad was featured as the credits rolled and was very appropriate for the story even tough totally out of period.
The pince of thieves - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews

The second most remade movie ever - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
I said Frankenstein was probably the most remade story ever. This has to be a close second with Cartoons and spoofs and countless remakes. The story is of a young rich kid, Robin of Loxley in the days of king Richard who heads off on the Crusades. While there he is captured by the Turks(I think), but escapes with the help of a Moor(sorry spelling) played by Morgan Freeman. They embark on a 4 month journey to England, as Freeman has vowed to save Robin as Robin saved him. When the get there Loxley has changed as the new Sherriff of Nottingham has killed Robin's father and taken over this section of England. With that Robin sets off to dtop thid man avenge his father and set the people free. With the help of Maid Marianne, Friar Tuck, and Little John.
Great story and very well pieced together. Not sure how accurate having a brother in Loxley was, but you can't go wrong with Morgan Freeman in your movie.
Fun - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This is a Fun Adaption of the Robin Hood story, its not made that well, and it takes of from the original alot, but its still good, Kevin Costner can't top his performances in Dances With Wolves, or the Perfect World, though.
Best robin hood out there - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
OK, if you pretend that Robin Hood had a southern accent, then there is nothing wrong with this movie. Yeah, a few things have been added in, but who cares? I dont want to see the same story line in every version. In addition, this movie produced Robin Hood: Men In Tights, and you can't go wrong there.

Ridiculous version.. - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This is a horrible version of the Robin Hood myth...lets make a list shall we?
Cons:
The stupid Ewok tree village the "Merry Men" live in.
Costner has no charisma or even motivation thourgh 90% of this film. What a waste!
Marion is a tough and skilled fight in the begining but can't fight off the Sheriff at the end? I mean Rickman may be handsomer than Costner but really!
The costumes are horrendous for a film that kept tooting it own horn about how historical they were in the desgin of the film!!!
Who was the stupid old Witch and what on earth was she supposed to be doing in this film...?
TWO Words: Stunt Butt!!! LOL
Pros:
Alan Rickman (What a waste of fabulous talent!)
New uses for a spoon.
Morgan Freeman(Again, what a waste of fabulous talent!)
When it was all over and I never had to watch this film again.
Not that bad. - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
The biggest problem I had with this movie were with the character inconsistencies. Costner's Robin Hood is missing an accent, Freeman's a kung-fu fighting Moor, the only character with consistency is rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham. Other than the flaws within the characters, this wasn't too bad.
"robin" the box office and my captivation. - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
I got this movie for Christmas when i was 3 and i watch about once a month. I love it. No other Robin Hood movies come close by a long shot.

The best robin hood movie i've ever seen - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This was an extremely well made version of the tale of Robin Hood.
I enjoyed it very much, so long as I fast forward all of the parts with the disgusting witch.
My favorite movie of all time - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
As above says, this is my All-Time Fave Movie! The acting, the costumes, it all seems so real! Kevin Costner is great in this movie. It really show cases his talent. I've seen this movie so many times I've learned every line in it.

A keeper - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
I thought the film overall to be great! One huge problem Kevin's on and off acent (well attempted accent) if he just spoke straight or just tried the accent it would of been a little better. The acting was great other than that! This is one of the movies I can see 100,000 times and not be sick of it!
Acting skills needed... - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
I think Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves had a good story and fair visuals.
The acting of Kevin Costner's acting was leaning towards the cheesy side though. Morgan Freeman's acting of "the painted man" was good though.
Again, the story was good, had a good plot, but the acting could have been much better, making the whole movie better as a whole.
A timeless adventure that stands the test of time. - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This movie is awesome. When I first saw it in 1991 I was amazed at the story, acting and visuals. Kevin Coster as Robin is timeless and his wit is funny. Morgan Freeman as his Moorish companion adds a very interesting twist to the story and gives it some ethnic flavoring. The forests and castles of England look very much like they did during the 12th century in this movie. The action is very well paced and the sounds can be incredibly overwhelming which is a good thing. Overall this movie is very much deserving of it's grade. :)

Tr賠bon film surtout ?ause du Sh鲩f de Nothingham, il joue trop bien.
Les plans de cameras 鴡ient tr賠cool. Et les d飯rs 鴡ient 飯eurants...
Very good! - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
The first time i saw this i was kinda young at the time but I still love the movie. I loved it then. I love it now. Christian Slayter, Morgen Freedman, and Kevin Costner are great actors and fit there roles Prefict. It is the best verson of Robin Hood told. It tells the story the book told , unlike many of the older movies didn't do. It showed the love he had for Maid Maryann. and the freindship he shared with Ezem. It was overall a great movie and I think Bryan Adam's song "(Every Thing I do) I do It for You" fit the movie prefict. Buy the movie if you havn't all ready.
Great remix on a classic story - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This movie shows what a great story Robin Hood truly is. It excellently blends in action, adventure, romance, and drama.

Excellent - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
One of the all-time greatest movies ever produced, I find it nearly impossible for anyone to not instantly fall in love with this masterpiece.
Just love it - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
My all time favorite movie! Ive watched it a million times:) dont think i have any complaints about it. It somthing you can watch over and over again and still laugh at the same things
This robin rocks! - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
The story is classic and the modernization of the tale is done exceptionally well. Costner's Robin Hood is almost perfect but Morgan Freeman steals the show.
Robin hood prince of thieves - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
This movie overall is better than the sum of it's parts. Action, Humor, Romance, Adventure, Suspence, Myth. . . Definitely a classic. This is the movie by which all others are judged in terms of "overall performance." Other movies are funnier, have better acting, more suspense, but this movie has it all.
One of the 90s best films - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
Not much can be said about this beautiful film within the english language. I love this film, everything about it I love. The story, the humor, the intrigue, the romance and even the special cameo at the end of the film. I also love the song from the film, I can't remember the name, but its such a beautiful song. If Robin Hood is once again remade, they are going to have a hard time living up or defeating this adaption.
Great movie - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves Reviews
Anyone who watches this movie will like it. If you saw the 1938 Robin Hood, you can't compare any remake to an orginal. Anyway, this version of Robin Hood is really good. I watched it over 10 years ago and I still watch it today. the movie was box office blockbuster in 1991 and it deserved to be. The story is basically the same as it should be. The soundtrack is proabably the best score I have ever heard for a movie. Everything about this movie is full of all emotions a person can experience.
